NewTel Systems Rate plans
Before adding rate plans please read how billing works.
To add a rate plan
- Log in to the NewTel Systems web interface.
- Go to Commerce » Rate plans.
- Click the "Add a new rate plan" button.
- Enter the following:
- A name for the rate plan.
- Optionally a description.
- Whether to share the rate plan with resellers. If so, they can assign this to their customers but they cannot edit the rate plan. If recursive, the rate plan is accessible to resellers' resellers, and so on.
- Whether the prices you configure in the plan include tax or not. If tax is not applicable, select "no".
- The tax rate. If tax is not applicable, enter "0".
- The billing period. The fees are charged at the start of each billing period.
- Whether to start the next billing period on a round date, or the exact anniversary of signing up. For example, if the billing period is 3 months and a customer is created on February 10th, the next billing period will start on April 1st if rounded, and May 10th if exact.
- Whether to send invoices to customers.
- How much detail to include on invoices.
- The customer service email address.
- Whether to copy the customer service email address on emails to customers.
- The customer service telephone number.
- Whether to divert outbound calls from the customer's telephones to customer service if the customer is locked or out of credit.
- What precision to round call costs to. Costs around rounded to the nearest value, not necessarily up or down.
- The minimum top-up and call credit on sign-up.
- Whether to purge customers' voicemails. This can be overridden for each customer.
- The maximum number of voicemails per mailbox directory. Faxes are not affected by this setting. This can be overridden for each customer.
- The default markups for calls in and out. The percentages you set are added to the amount calls cost you to calculate the costs to your customers. These can be overridden by exceptions later. Note that if the cost to you is negative (i.e. you receive a rebate), then by setting a positive markup you are giving your customers a larger rebate than you receive.
- Whether any call minutes are included in the rate plan. If so, calls will be free until these are used up, then calls revert to normal cost. Which destinations are included is set per outbound group.
- Whether unused minutes roll over for one month.
- For customers using the self sign up, the default settings for when they are notified of low balance, and how much their accounts are automatically topped up by. This does not affect customers you create by hand, as you can set these options when creating the customer.
- The defaults for the class of service. These can be overridden by exceptions later. Each rate plan includes a class of service that behaves like customers' classes of service, but which affects customers using the rate plan rather than users in the same customer.
- The maximum number of calls per customer. Inbound and outbound are counted independently. Internal calls are not counted. This can be overridden for each customer.
- Click the "Save" button.
- In the list rate plans page, click on the plan you have just created.
